About GAMMA-UT
GAMMA-UT (the Graduate Association of Music
and Musicians at UT) is a graduate organization of musicologists,
ethnomusicologists, music theorists, and composers dedicated to promoting
interdisciplinary collaboration among these areas at The University of Texas at Austin. Since its inception in 2000, the
association has sponsored nine successful conferences featuring papers and
compositions created by graduate students from across the country. The 2009 conference report is now available, as are past

GAMMA-UT, the Graduate Association of Music
and Musicians at UT, announces its tenth annual conference, "Music and
War," to be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at The University of Texas at This year’s keynote speaker is Suzanne
Cusick. Dr. Cusick is an associate professor of music at New York University.
Her publications include the 2009 book Francesca Caccini at the Medici
Court (University of Chicago Press) as well as articles on music of
seventeenth-century Italy, feminist approaches to music history and
criticism, queer studies in music, and music as torture. Please see the page “2010 Conference” for
